Geraldine Osborne

Obituary of Geraldine Marie Osborne

66, Middle Sackville, NS.  It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Geraldine M. ”Jerry” (Gray) Osborne, announce her passing on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the New Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS.  Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Bernice (Jollimore) Gray.  Having met the love of her life at a young age, Jerry and Brian have been married for over 45 years.  She treasured her family, and anyone who knew her knew that her grandchildren, Dylan, Megan and Michael were her world.  She loved to go for long drives, enjoying the beach, especially Queensland with her grandkids, and Diamond Art.  She was deeply involved in GA (Gamblers Anonymous) for over 11 years, where she will be deeply missed.  She had a very social nature and a wonderful sense of humour.  She always tried to make people smile, and her friends were very important to her.  Her laugh was infectious, she instantly made you laugh along with her.  Jerry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband, Brian, her two beloved sons, Corey (Holly) and Lloyd (Jennifer), her cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Megan and Michael, and her siblings, with whom she was very close, John Gray, Marjorie (AKA Grannie) (Rick) O’Sullivan, Kevin (Jean) Gray, Raymond (Pam) Gray, Judy (David) Volans, Cathy (Gray) Gage, as well as her sister-in-law, Linda Gray.  She is also survived by her aunt, Florence Harrison, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends near and far.  She was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Bernice Gray, a brother, Michael “Mike” Gray, a niece, Kim Clarke, nephews, Scott and Matthew.

Please join the family at a memorial dance with the band “The Island Boys”, on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 7-11pm at the Fairview Royal Canadian Legion, 50 Hillcrest Street, Halifax, because this was Jerry’s most favorite thing to do, besides spending time with her family, was going out and listening to music with who she called “The Boys”.  All are welcome.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 11 AM from Maritime Cremation Centre, 67 Temple Terrace, Lower Sackville, NS, where a reception will follow.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity that would benefit a child in memory of Jerry.

Jerry's family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to all the doctors and nurses of 6.1 and 6.2 at the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII for the compassion and care shown to Jerry.

“What’s UP!?!?!”
