Obituary of Barbara June Hogan

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of my mother Barbara June Hogan (Adams) at the age of 76.  Mom passed away December 24, 2023 at the QEII on Robie St Halifax, NS with loved ones by her side.

Barbara June was born in Sydney, NS and lived most of her life in Coxheath, then Sydney River, before moving to Halifax, NS in 2008.  She completed high school at Riverview Rural High in Coxheath before continuing her education in the nursing field as an LPN.  Mom also loved creating and was able to create many unique and custom orders of leather work including leather art pictures, wallets, purses, belts and more.

A beloved mother, sister, partner and friend, Barbabra June was a kind, compassionate and thoughtful soul who would do anything for anyone.  She is survived by her only daughter Margaret Hogan (Stephen Cseh) Halifax, NS; sister, Heather Adams, AZ; life partner, John Murphy, Dartmouth, NS; several cousins in CB, Halifax and BC.  She is predeceased by her parents Margaret Jean and Ronald Alexander Adams and several cousins.

Barbara June loved animals, flowers and nature in general.  She was an avid gardener and in years past won many awards for her flowers and veggies at the fairs and exhibitions in Cape Breton.  In recent years she developed a passion for watching curling, either on TV or watching her partner John curl at the local curling club, bad weather would not keep her away. Mom will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be heldfrom 12-3, March 20, 2024 at 324 Larry Uteck Blvd, Halifax. Donations in her memory can be made to an animal charity of your choice, (she was a true animal lover)
